For years, GEFO has opted for the EcoVadis self-assessment tool, the leading provider of business sustainability ratings. We are very proud to have been awarded Gold by EcoVadis for 2025, the only medal which reflects the GEFO standard not only in the EcoVadis topics, but far beyond! Our long-standing commitment to sustainability and social responsibility has been rewarded. GEFO received a great score of 76/100. We were able to improve in all categories, especially in the areas of Environment and Labour & Human Rights. With the gold medal, GEFO is among the top 5% of companies rated by EcoVadis.

The shipping company Gefo is building a range of new specialized tankers at shipyards in China, Turkey, Romania and the Netherlands. The total amount invested comes to €400 million and will result in 26 newbuild vessels and 13 purchases of modern tonnage. According to the company, competitive construction prices could only be achieved in the countries mentioned.
